Three Scrapateers

Recently a friend and I made a quick trip to Atlanta for a scrapbooking event. Melissa, my SIL had extended the invitation when we were up for Charlie's 2nd birthday in May and I had secretly been looking forward to it ever since. I was hoping for some stress relief from the busy July we had and my friend needed the time away doing something she loves also.. Our families support our hobby and love the finished product, but it doesn't stop them from making fun of us when we are watching Lisa Bearnson of Creating Keepsakes on QVC or driving 250 miles to go scrappin' The event was a all day crop in honor of the 5th Anniversary of Classy Coordinates Scrapbooking Club. The host was Tiara Smith, a girl Melissa met through a stamping club, and she did a great job. .She has a lot of talent for scrapbooking and had a few of her pages showcased at the event. She also had a lot of her supplies and kits there for discounted prices and these deals are irresistible to most scrappers. They fed us a great lunch, had lots of giveaways, including a free 1 year subscription to an online scrapbooking magazine called Scrap n'Art. We received a free kit for coming to the event, tickets were drawn and we each won a kit that way also.I felt a little bit like I was on the Oprah show with all these gifts being given. I started to look under my chair to see if there was a prize taped there too! Gina completed 6 pages, I completed 5 and Melissa had finished 7 or 8 pages by the end of the night. So all in all it was a really fun trip and well worth the drive. Did I mention we did a little shopping and I also got to see my sweet nephew.
